Phil Dorothy Drawing Studio | June 10

Now that many of us are vaccinated, the ArtiFactory will offer a Thursday night life drawing group in memory of Phil Dorothy. The next one is on June 10, 2021 at 6:30-8:30 pm. in the lower level of Wesley House at 120 N. Dubuque St., Iowa City, IA. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Those interested in attending need to register so the ArtiFactory can gauge interest in this event. We will be drawing from nude, scantily clothed or dressed models. Must be over 18 to attend.
According to the CDC, “If you are fully vaccinated, you can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic. Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, find a vaccine.“
We still ask that everyone please wear a mask and maintain a social distance during this event to be on the safe side. We can decide as a group what our comfort level is. Also, do not bring food to share. Bring your own snacks and beverages. We can share snacks and beverages at a future date, but for now let’s take baby steps.
Bring your own drawing materials which can include graphite, charcoal, pastels or watercolors. Drawing boards and easels will be available. Water-based oils and acrylics will be allowed. Solvent based oils are not permitted. It is suggested that artists using media that can leave a permanent stain bring a drop cloth. The artist is responsible for cleaning their area before leaving. Photographing or video recording the model is not permitted.
